Inspired by the cut outs of Matisse, these images start out as photos and with photoshop I "Cut Out" the figure, turn them a solid color and scratch in a minimal amount of detail. Sometimes I have fun with the background, other times I leave in clean with a focus on the figure.
 
These are printed on canvas but then stretched over 1.5" wood giving a nice solid base so they can stand up on their own and do not necessarily need to be hung or have a stand.  Tuck them into a bookshelf, on a sofa table or a piano.
